A first visit for the exciting Sophie Smith (vocals) with Ross Stanley (piano), Jules Jackson (bass) and Graham Fox (drums)
and Jim Mullen (guitar)
"Sophie Smith has all the attributes associated with being that rarity, a great singer. They are: superb intonation,
beautiful quality of voice and ability to pitch the most dificult of intervals with apparent ease. However, it is
her peerless sense of swing, her phrasing and her harmonic awareness that move her into the category of a great jazz
singer - an even rarer breed." Alan Barnes, 2009
"Sophie has a voice ideally suited to jazz. Flexible, sweet in tone and with great intonation. Add to this a strong rhythmic sense and an adventurous choice of material ... she's one to watch."
Lee Gibson, Jazz Singer.
" Sophie's sultry delivery of 'You Don't Know What Love Is' was mesmerising - I almost fell in love all over again"
- Richard Shelton, Quaglinos Restaurant, London
